The book, The Unwinding of the Miracle by Julie Yip-Williams, is an autobiography that relates her life struggles throughout the forty-two years of her life. She sadly succumbed to cancer on March 19th, 2018. The author provides interesting points-of-view of both life and death as she narrates her experiences over the last days of her life. Having lived a life filled with complex experiences, including being diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, Yip-Williams encourages her readers to abstain from false securities that are characterized by false hopes and instead come up with coping mechanisms when faced with complex situations like hers. The book also encourages readers to enjoy life while it lasts because they never know when the miracle of life will ‘unwind’.
