Introduction
Based in the United States, General Motors (GM) is a public corporation with
headquarter in Detroit, Michigan. The company, in 2011, was capable of acquiring the name of
the leading automaker around the globe by attaining the highest sales of the vehicle since the
beginning. From 1931 through 2007, GM controlled international unit sales of an automobile for
77 continuous years; though, to Toyota, the corporation lost its position. Toyota has continuously
dominated the marketplace with General Motors standing at 2nd position.
Stock Exchange, Audit Firm, and Symbol
General Motors is registered under the New York Stock Exchange with the symbol of
GE. In 2017, General Motors announced Ernst & Young LLP as the Audit Committee of the
organization. This organization is an independent registered public accounting organization. This
is the action of GM that reflects the organization and the Board of Directors’ commitment to
stronger corporate governance, with the introduction of a fresh viewpoint.

The Timeline of General Motors shows some most significant milestones in the
automaker’s long life, comprising its incorporation, certain innovations, and acquisitions, along
