One of the principle features of diabetes is the imbalance between the hormone insulin and glucose levels. There are two types of diabetes. You can choose to concentrate your case study on the biochemical processes that occur when the body is not able to produce insulin in Type 1 Diabetes or how the cells are not able to respond to insulin in a Type 2 Diabetic

Description of the problem
The case study is a description of an individual diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. The
diseases affect millions of people globally, and it’s the most severe metabolic disease, among
others (American Diabetes Association. 2017). One of its characteristics is the imbalance
between insulin and glucose levels in the body. There two types of diabetes, type 1 diabetes,
and type 2 diabetes. The case study focuses on type 1 diabetes, where cells in the individual
body fail to produce insulin.
Introduction to the patient
The patient is a man who is seventy years old. After the doctor carried out tests and
diagnoses, he doctor reported that the patient had type 1 diabetes. The patient had the following
signs; increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, weight loss, and blurred vision. The doctor
advises the patient to check blood sugar levels fr...
