Click on theAssignments, Lab button to the left and download the document that contains step-by-step instructions to Lab#1. You will elaborate interests in connection to the "metropolitan," "technology" and "infrastructure," by using open data sources and by reasoning through responses to the questions, with relevant data and source support. I have posted an example submission in this forum that models one possible way of completing this lab (but it is by no means the best or only way). You will need to post: (1) a cut/paste version of the write-up, to make it accessible at a click ; (2) a subject heading title for the post that establishes focus relevant to something in the write-up; (3) copy of the data you extracted from US Census site (attached as either a CSV or Excel .xls sheet); (4) post as a reply to the entire post, a file of the write-up that can be downloaded (this can be as a Word or .pdf file). So please do use that data about demographics and infrastructure to draw conclusions about what it all means, too. Question 6 I believe raising substance abuse issues though you use the term “manhandle” (which may have happened if you worked with a thesaurus; clarify phrasing to specify issue you intended – I was not sure what you meant in 6. The point about green solutions should be specified in relation to tech, too, because it’s possible that tech could be the source of pollution and environmental damage and you need to explain some ways it could help on the issues. I sense English may not be your first language and encourage you to use resources like the writing center to help articulate points clearly and specifically. Otherwise, good start to course!
