MUSIC CONCERT 2
MUSIC CONCERT
Introduction
For the following concert reports, I listened to elite groups of orchestras that were given
to us as part of our assignments. I was able to see and listen to some of the best talents that are
available in the music realm. I had a very humble time listening to concerts. It was so important
to listen to pieces that are composed of young people and also the old. It’s still very
unimaginable for me to create such complex musical compositions and even performing them
before live audiences. These parts of the concerts were so awe-aspiring. Large attendances were
present, and are so sure the large attendances consisted of friends and families of the performers.
Music Description
The first piece that I watched was Europa Galante -Corelli. The band was composed of
both males and females. It featured the woodwind and brass sections of the orchestra. It was cool
and classical. It started in small building crescendos which became more and more powerful as
the music reached its peak. The music was a field with dark and moody sounds and that made is
exceptional. There were very many reverberating notes that were used to convey the eerie and
sadistic tone. As the music progressed it became even more dramatic and intense which
constantly repeated the tone color. The music work was short just about 9 minutes to be specific
but it was worth it.
The second piece that I watched was J.S.Bach-Triple concerto in a minor BWV 1044
Anastasia Anton ova. It was much longer in duration than the first one. It exemplified allot of
uniqueness as it incorporated our everyday sounds into their music such as bird songs and dance
tunes thus providing for a very wide range of color tones. The mood was classical, even though
the performers were dressed in black. The band also consisted of male and female performers.
The symphony began with a very thick texture undertone in the strings and a ‘hunting calls in the
woodwinds. Which was also persistent through the whole piece? The entire orchestra played an
up and down descending melody which was done to keep the audience deep into the
performance. They also played a very strong fortissimo beat which gradually increased the
tension present as the strings dominated the entire performance as well. A strong legato melody
was passed from the cellos to the violins and then to the basses. The true ending came with a
crescendo which was also incorporated in the original two-note’ hunting call’ which was very
present at the beginning. The music also descended in notes of the horns during the last
moments.
The third piece was that of Mishap Maisky-Haydn- Cello Concerto No2 in D major. This
piece was the longest about twenty-one minutes. The orchestra was comprised of more classical
musicians than the previous two. The first movement in this performance was started by the
leading violinist blowing back. A short buzz from the basses was also heard which was followed
by the orchestra. The conductor gave the tempo at the beginning and went on to pick up the
rhythm. This went on to create a sequence that it is very possible to notice when various
instruments used in the orchestra are varied and are part of the orchestra. Stringed instruments
like the violins and guitars formed the largest part of the group. Another instrument that was on
display was one of a pair of tube orchestration. This is very possible to establish that the intimacy
was filled with various expressions and lip movements that were mint to give the intended mood
during the time of its composition. In the first movement, several themes emerged. Sadness was
one of them. This was made very possible by clarinets and a very rich presence of violins. Still,
at another time, it was very possible to establish an enthusiastic progression of the rapid play. In
