Ethics is always inclusive of research, as we must protect participants and be aware of appropriate methods for obtaining information. Through observation and research we begin to understand the world around us. Consider research you have read about or been a part of: Was the scientific method followed? How? There are guidelines that must be followed, as well as people that oversee to make sure things are being done accordingly. With anything, the patient and safety is the most important, and this must be taken into consideration before anything else. Informed consent, respect and safety are all very important ethical considerations in regards to research. The research that is being done must have a set of guidelines to follow in order to make sure it is being done appropriately, without errors, and to get the most out of the research. People must all work together to get the best out of the research, and if guidelines or rules are not set, each "department" could go off their own set of standards, thus giving false information in regards to the research.
