Description

Project Topics:

You have been asked by management (manufacturing, healthcare, retail, financial, and etc.,) to create a research report using a data mining tool, data analytic, BI tool. It is your responsibility to search, download, and produce outputs using one of the tools. You will need to focus your results on the data set you select.

Ensure to address at least one topic covered in Chapters 1-9 with the outputs. The paper should include the following as Header sections. You can find some related topics if you want. Then write the term paper.

Example of topics:

1. Using data mining techniques for learning systems….

2. How to improve Health Care System using data mining techniques…

3. Design and develop Network/Information Security using data mining techniques…

4. How efficiently extract knowledge from a big data using data mining techniques…

5. Using data mining techniques to improve the financial/stock information systems…

Abstract
The healthcare sector had not considered the importance of data and how it could be used to
improve health outcomes. However, the technological revolution has resulted in a situation
where healthcare facilities are required to gather, store, and share information related to different
patient populations. The concept of data mining is likely to revolutionize the healthcare industry
as it ensures that the stakeholders are in a position to use the data as well as for analytics. The
data mining process results in a situation where healthcare stakeholders can identify various
inefficiencies that can hinder health outcomes. Additionally, the process also ensures that the
industry can use the data to reduce costs while improving the services. Data mining has also been
termed as a critical part of healthcare as it improves the decision-making process. In this project,
the dataset from EMA was analyzed using Tableau public tool. A decision tree was used to solve
the classification problem i.e. classifying shortages of medical supplies as either resolved,
ongoing, or null. Tableau is revolutionizing the medical sector through efficient description and
prediction of future trends.

Introduction
The healthcare sector focuses on interacting with patient populations to improve health
outcomes. In the past, the healthcare facilities relied on information offered on a first-hand basis
by the patients. The technological revolution has resulted in a situation where healthcare
stakeholders have to depend on data gathered from various sources. Data mining is a critical
component of the healthcare sector as it focuses on aspects such as analytics.
In summation, data mining has been a critical part of the healthcare sector as it aids in
processes such as decision making, which ensures that health outcomes can be improved. Data
mining has also been critical to the process as it ensures that the industry can improve on best
practices while reducing the cost.
