Tumor markers consist of different substances such as cytoplasmic proteins, cell surface
antigens, hormones, enzymes, receptors, oncofetal, and oncogenes alongside their products. They
are produced by various cancer cells or even other body cells as they respond to the cancer cells
as well as certain noncancerous conditions that provide vital information concerning cancers.
