Chapter 25
Summary

In 2018, Theranos published another peer review scientific journal regarding the minilab. Even so, the information provided in those papers were far from what Holmes promised to the people in the beginning. Some tests couldn't be done and nevertheless, the technique still used the old way of acquiring blood from the arm.  The companies invested a large part of their funds for their legal actions and failed to win the credits. Because of that soon the company was bankrupt. As a result of the fraud, Holmes had to relinquish the voting control she had over the company, she had to return a large part of the stock and also pay a 500,000$ penalty. Nevertheless, she is no longer allowed to be a director of a public company for the upcoming 10 years.

Analysis
At the end of the book, the author states that Elizabeth Holmes might be a sociopath but that is not his duty to affirm. Even so, he is convinced that in the beginning, when she dropped out of Stanford, her vision was to create something innovative that would make her famous and save peoples lives. As the years passed she started outdistancing her initial plan and suddenly found herself involved in fraudulent activities. Even though Sunny was her right hand, the board members admit that Elizabeth was the one who had the last words. Finally, after years of scamming people, the truth finally was revealed by John Carreyrou.
