Summary

The availability influences a biased decision naturally because an event has occurred vividly. Even though information on an occurrence is available, it is important to know that emotions play a role in influence decision in a way that after a while memories dim and decision shift from the availability bias. The chapter sum up availability effect as some information availed may be untrue, and the availability effect will be no resourceful. The impact of availability makes a person ignore the occurrence of an event or solid facts. The existence of one variable compared to that of another may be perceived differently. The presence of one may be more than that of another, but it is possible that the event of one may be viewed to be more than the other due to how current it occurred.

Analysis

The chapter is a perfect composition of the way the two proposed systems work and the effects emotions impact. The risks posed by the availability bias are also a significant factor worth consideration. Emotions influence plenty of what the brain conceives analyzes and the ultimate products but disciplining the mind on what to believe will help. It is also important that Kahneman documents the risks availability bias presents.
