Observation Journal 2- Cinema/TheatreStep 1:Choose a 3 to 5 minute scene from Titanic. You will need to provide a link to YouTube or another similar site so I can see what you're writing about. Can use Arial or Times New Roman with a 12 point font. Step 2:You should observe and comment on three cinematic elements, tell if it is a narrative, documentary, or absolute and include editing, camera viewpoint, and audio techniques as indicated below. Here is what you should write:Paragraph one: a. name the film, year of release, director, and the names of any actors who appear on screen or whose voices are heard in the scene. b. editing - if present, identify and describe the scene's use of jump cuts, form cuts, crosscutting (p.198) and/or montage. c. camera viewpoint - discuss the perspective of the camera, taking time to identify, describe, and discuss the sequence of any of the following shots: establishing shot, long shot, medium shot, close-up, two-shot, and/or cutting within the frame.Paragraph two:After identifying the filmmaker's use of editing and camera viewpoint, discuss how these elements give shape to the overall meaning and effectiveness of the scene.
